Show and Tell
Thursday, April 3
Show off those talents. Share a story, a special moment, a piece of artwork. Any accomplishment, great or small, is fair game.
Boo was SO excited the first day of homeschool! Since Daddy was home, I utilized his experience in “building” and asked that he assist (where necessary) on Boo’s Birdhouse. As you can see, it turned out lovely. (She gave it to our neighbor as a gift).
The end of January brought Kansas Day – - so, we pushed all of our other studies aside in order to study our great state. She had a super-good time making our flag out of construction paper, pasted on seal, and puffy letters. (Of course, the word was suppose to be yellow – - but, we did not have puffy letters in yellow.)
A couple weeks later, we studied the crab – - and one of her assignments was to make Crab Alfredo for dinner. She did 98 percent of the meal. Here is how it turned out….
Just this past weekend, we were able to take a trip to Missouri – - where we stopped off at the state capital, in Jefferson City! The capital is AMAZING, by the way!! My hubby and the two kids are the three little blips towards the bottom of the picture (on the steps).
Finally, I wanted to share what I am most proud of…..her reading. I put a shelf up for her at www.shelfari.com (under “Southpaugh Homeschool”), if you wanna check it out. Here is a picture of the awesome bookshelf that my Dad built for me….to symbolize the books.
Thanks for hanging out with me, while I highlighted Boo’s accomplishments.
If you want to read more Show and Tell, hurry on over to Principled Discovery…and heck, might as well join in the fun!

I didnt do todays assingment but I have to stop and say I love that bookshelf. I just ask my husband to buy me a new one the other day. You just cant have too many bookshelves!
What great excerpts from your school year. It is awesome that your daughter so enjoys reading!
Judging from the pictures, Boo looks very happy about being homeschooled. It looks like she had a lot of fun learning activities her first year.
It is so exciting to see them getting it isn’t it?
It looks like Boo is having a great year!
Kansas? I lived in Kansas for several years! And graduated from KU.
Great post…and I agree about the bookshelves.
Awesome! The crab looks yummmy. Very cool.
