I checked out 100 Best Books for Children by Anita Silvey and noticed that we had read several of the books listed – – and the ones I HAD read WERE good – – so I made copies of the list at the back of the book: “Beyond the 100 Best.” Essentially, it is a list of the authors favorite books for children. I thought it would give us a place to start – – and a goal to accomplish. As of today, (9/8/2008), Boo has read 44 of the listed books. I’ve checked out MOST of the “picture books” and we are actually going to read some of the other books for the historical fiction read-alouds for the year. I am really excited about the books we have read together, so far – – I am totally looking forward to more!!! If you are curious as to what she has read (with her recommendations), click here.
